Today, we are discovering a new authentic Moroccan recipe in the “Dada Series Saison 2” in collaboration with @La Maison Arabe: White Hessoua (Oats Milk Soup). This soup is usually served in Morocco as a dinner, plus it is along with our vegetarian week. I’m sure that your family and friends will love it 🙂 Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
100 grams (1 cup) steel-cut oats
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt, to taste
500 ml (2 cups) water
250 ml (1 cup) milk
Dried thyme for decoration and flavor
1- On medium high heat, in a large saucepan, add water, salt, and olive oil. Once the water is hot, add the oats.
2- Bring the mixture to a boil and continue cooking for 15 minutes or so until the soup becomes thick.
3- Add the milk.
4- Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for around 10 minutes.
5- Serve the soup hot and for more flavor crush some dried thyme on top!
